Sandra attended Queen Margaret College University and completed BSc in Occupational Therapy and qualified in 2005.

Sandra has 18 years of experience working within NHS and Social Work in areas such as: Acute stroke, Stroke rehabilitation, Acute medicine, Care of the Elderly, Orthopedics - elective and trauma, Surgical, A&E, Rapid Response, Respiratory, Reablement and Equipment and Adaptations.

Sandra specialises in post surgery orthopaedic rehabilitation. Sandra focuses on people that have been discharged from hospital after hip or knee replacements. She designs and implements treatment/rehabilitation plans to increase their level of functioning and gain independence through Occupational Therapy.

An initial assessment will take place at home. Sandra will discuss past medical history and reason for referral/admission, discuss previous level of functioning, from this a functional and standardised assessment will be carried out to ascertain the current level of functioning. She will then discuss goals and how to achieve them and create a treatment plan. Sandra will work with the patient to practice washing and dressing tasks, transfers (chair, bed, toilet, car), kitchen practice, mobility, showering, bathing to increase their level of functioning.
