Consultant Psychiatrist for Adults (18+)
He has a keen interest in the treatment of depression and anxiety. He has a post graduate diploma in CBT and is very much a believer in examining lifestyle including nutrition, sleep and exercise as the first step to recovery.
As a Liaison Psychiatrist, he specialises in the overlap between medical and psychiatric illness. He is accomplished in prescribing psychotropic medication in those with significant co-morbid medical and mental health conditions.
He runs a perinatal psychiatry service within his NHS role and has specific expertise in treatment of mental health problems and psychotropic medication advice in pregnancy and was involved in the national Sign guidelines on treatment of perinatal mood disorders.
He also has significant experience in the assessment of capacity and cognitive testing and related medico-legal issues such as Guardianships and Power of Attorney assessments.
