Dr Adrian Sie www.scottishpaeds.org.uk has been a consultant in paediatrics for over 14 years. Trained in Sheffield, Edinburgh and Glasgow, he works at the University Hospital Wishaw in Lanarkshire.

His interest is paediatric allergy. He is currently the clinical lead for the NHS Children and Young People Allergy Network Scotland (CYANS) www.cyans.scot.nhs.uk/ as well as the NHS Lanarkshire allergy service paediatric-allergy-service.

Mrs Pauline Sie is a paediatric nurse with 15 years experience of working with children, most recently in the Emergency department at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow (since 2016) and prior to that the Paediatric Intensive Care unit and the Schiehallion children’s cancer ward in Glasgow.

She is experienced in care of acutely unwell children, common childhood illnesses, minor injuries, as well as providing family centred care generally.

She assists her husband Dr Sie with practical procedures (weighing, measuring, ECG recording, blood sampling, skin prick testing) as well as counselling around food allergies, including food safety skills, reaction management (including anaphylaxis), and safety in school/nursery.

Consultations are offered for most conditions affecting babies or children under 16 that do not require a surgeon - for example:
  • Tummy pain
  • Headaches
  • Diarrhoea
  • Vomiting
  • Reflux
  • Colic
  • Cow’s milk allergy/intolerance
  • Other food allergies (see below regarding skin prick testing)
  • Constipation
  • Soiling
  • Wetting, urinary urgency/frequency
  • Breathing problems, cough/wheeze
  • Rashes, birthmarks, lumps
  • Palpitations
  • Chest pain
  • Dizziness and faints/collapses (syncope, POTS)
  • Seizures, funny turns, funny movements (tics, Tourette’s, PANDAS)
  • Absences (petit mal)
  • Growth/puberty concerns
  • Unusual skull shape in babies (plagiocephaly)
  • Neck lumps (lymph nodes)
  • Chronic pain
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Joint or limb pain
Charges:
  • £250 for first consultation (30 mins)
  • £150 for follow up consultation (20 mins)
  • £100 for telephone appointment (20 mins)

  • Allergy testing (skin prick tests) is available for:
  • Milk
  • Egg
  • Peanut and tree nuts
  • Other foods
  • Cats, dogs
  • House dust mite
  • Grass and tree pollen

  • Price:
  • £150 (maximum of 8 tests under 5 years old, 20 tests 5-16 years old). Testing will only be arranged if appropriate, after initial consultation.
