specialising in Glaucoma and Cataract and General Ophthalmology. He has worked as an NHS consultant for 21 years and is based in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. His past roles have included being Clinical Director for Ophthalmology and Clinical Lead for Glaucoma Services as well as educational roles involving training and teaching of Glaucoma Fellows, surgical ophthalmic trainees, Glasgow University medical students, undergraduate optometrists at Glasgow Caledonian University Department of Vision Sciences and Community Optometrists enrolled in the Independent Prescribing Course.

One of the clinical leads in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde with special interest in Cataract Surgery, YAG laser treatment, Intravitreal Injections, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Lasers, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinal Vascular Disorders, Central Serous Chorioretinopathy, Inherited Retinal Disorders, among other retinal conditions and general Ophthalmology. He has performed thousands of cataract operations in addition to other Ophthalmic procedures.

Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon

One of the most experienced high volume cataract and Lens Implant surgeon in the country, with over 30 years of experience in Ophthalmology, having performed thousands of cataract and Lens Implant Surgeries. He is the Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Forth Valley NHS Trust and is currently the Clinical lead for Cataract surgery, Clinical lead for macular services and Clinical Laser Expert for Forth Valley NHS. Dr Saboor is an experienced user of multifocal and EDOF lens implants to correct Presbyopia, toric implants to correct astigmatism and ICL (Implantable Contact Lenses) to correct short-sightedness and long-sightedness. Dr Saboor is also a medical retina specialist with expertise in macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and lasers. He is currently Honorary Clinical Registrar for Ophthalmology at Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow to oversee FRCS exam and is the Lead examiner.
