Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
CAMHS at Glasgow Private Clinic will not be taking any new referrals until further notice.As parents and experienced doctors, we are acutely aware at how important it can be to access support for children. Our aim is to provide thorough, timely and ethical assessments for young people.
We would aim to consult with the young person and/or their caregivers (s) initially and ascertain if we are the right service for them. Assessment is about making and excluding diagnoses and offering a story for the difficulties experienced rather than a focus solely on medication or treatment.
If we are the right service for a family, we would delineate clearly what we hope to work on. Assessments may include history taking, direct or indirect observations, blood testing or other physical tests and accessing other records (with permission). We will then produce a report for based on our findings and this can be shared with services going forward. We can also discuss disseminating findings to GPs and local teams.
We are Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists with a broad range of experience across inpatient and outpatient specialist settings. We will offer assessments/advice on the following:
- ADHD
- ASD
- Mood disorders
- Emotional disturbance
- Eating difficulties
- Sleep difficulties
- Difficulties around harm to self or others.
- Initial telephone consultation (up to 15 mins) : £85
- Full assessment and treatment plan: £310 per hour and average length of time will be confirmed at the beginning.
- Review appointments (typically 30mins) : £185
- Bloods/physical investigations package-typically : £150
- Neurodevelopmental disorder assessment reports-fees to be discussed following initial appointment
- Costs for ADHD and ASD assessments will be provided on request
Our fees are transparent and fair and if a family is under financial strain then we can have a discussion around how best to proceed. We also have a team of people with particular skills who may be assigned to meet specific needs.
*We are also able to provide legal reports such as reports for Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003, the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act and the Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000. We are also able to offer psychiatric opinions on civil and negligence claims. Fees can be discussed with legal teams accordingly.
